The site of the project is a long, narrow rectangular plot with its street-front facade only 10.3m wide and 38m deep, sandwiched between a residential area and a primary school. In the first instance, the proposal defines a 3.5m wide inner courtyard beside a 7.6m wide office space that, creates an exclusive quiet workplace, while maintaining the functionality and the quality of the environment. A decent entrance and a large meeting and presentation room are arranged along the street front. All the rooms are connected with a linear corridor with a skylight allowing in daylight to enrich the indoor space. Furthermore, the existing sequoia trees on the primary school side enhance this space with its play of shadow and light. The rooftop of this single-floored office is articulated as a social and relaxation place for the employees. The waterscape at the street side delineates the transition between public and private space. A large camphor tree, which casts its reflection on the water creates a fascinating view on the rooftop.
