Industrial Park Renewal Research

The design draws inspiration from the rich history of the site, harking back to its industrial era characterized by warehouses and expansive workshops. Originally serving as the production and warehousing base for major multinational companies like Panasonic, Motorola, and Mitsubishi, the layout comprised a systematic array designed to maximize land use and facilitate efficient vehicle transportation. As the land's value increased and leases expired, the government envisioned a transformation of the entire park into an R&D office park. The escalating demand for building volume necessitated the replacement of low-rise factories with high-rise structures. The design retains the original array order of the industrial factory area while integrating high-rise towers. This innovative approach creates an open urban public space through a network of strip-shaped squares, green spaces, and overpasses parallel to the buildings. In proposing this alternative redevelopment strategy for industrial areas, the architects harmoniously blend historical memory with future development, offering a unique perspective on revitalizing the site.
